N.J. Firefighter’s Bicycle Race

On Sunday, July 26, 2015, the Stirling Volunteer Fire Company sponsored the 17th Annual N.J. Firefighters Bicycle Race to benefit the St. Barnabas Hospital Burn Center Foundation. The race is 2 laps on a 1 mile per lap course. Racers must wear their firefighter helmet, turnout coat, bunker pants, and firefighter gloves. Trophies are awarded to the top 5 overall finishers, the top female firefighter finisher, and the fastest 4 person team from the same fire company.

Liberty Corner took the second and third place trophies with Chief Pete Aprahamian finishing in second place and Chief Eric Murphy finishing in third place. Ex-Chief Chris Hurst and firefighter Max Halper also participated for Liberty Corner.
