On Saturday, June 10th, local area fire companies participated in the 47th Annual Tri-County Firematics Competition hosted by the Chatham Boro Fire Department. The annual competition is based on a series of simulated firefighting activities. The goal is to successfully complete each activity, which consists of two hose events and one ladder event, in the least amount of time. Trophies are awarded for each of the three individual events and the team with the lowest time for all three events combined is declared the overall winner.
The Liberty Corner Fire Company placed 1st place Overall with the lowest combined time for all 3 events. This is the 4th year in a row LCFC won 1st place overall. To claim the victory, LCFC placed 2nd in the single hose event, 1st in the ladder event, and second in the double hose event. Other fire companies participating in this year’s firematics competition were Basking Ridge, Bernardsville, Far Hills-Bedminster, Green Village, Martinsville, New Vernon, and Stirling.
